Writing.
Observations from my coaching practice, and essays on the work behind it.
In Session
In Session is where I write about the patterns I see in my coaching practice. The ones that surface again and again, across people who look nothing alike on paper.
01PerfectionismThe bar is impossible because it was built for only one person, you. Hitting it never brings relief, only more feelings of "still not enough."02SuccessThe goalpost keeps moving because the reward chemistry is in the chase, never the finish line.03Negativity biasYour nervous system files a critical sentence in a review the same way it files a real threat.04RestRest is the precondition for doing hard work again, not the reward for having already done it.05ProcrastinationThe freeze is an overloaded system turning its own volume down, not a discipline problem.06PrioritizationEvery time you rank two things, you are grieving whichever one drops. That is why the list never gets shorter.07Overpromise and underdeliverThe reflexive "yes" buys you relief now and hands the consequences to whoever needed that commitment to be reliable.08Martyrdom see-sawDoing it all is a currency, and the ledger never closes on its own.09AffirmationYou can train yourself not to need the praise. You cannot train yourself out of noticing when you do not get it.10Laid off and lostThe job is gone, but what is missing is the structure that held your identity and security in place.
